In honour of National Share a Story Month, we're taking a trip down memory lane in North London. Born from ideas created by Heinz and Mick in North London in the nineties, Raft's roots are firmly planted in this area of the country, where Mick was born and raised. Growing up in Neasden with his single mother and brother meant that for Mick, North London occupies a special place in his heart. Through Raft, Mick set out to create jobs and offer some flair to the high street. For Heinz, sustainability and family was at the heart of the Raft brainwave... And so this small, family-run business was born. 22 years later, we're so proud of what we've achieved and the loyal community we have created.
What about the people behind the brand in North London? We are proud to have an incredibly long-standing team at Raft. We’re made up of loyal Rafters who have become experts with us, as well as professionals with years of experience in the industry elsewhere. From professional upholsterers, frame makers, cutters and machinists to interior designers, salespeople, drivers and more… Each of us plays a key role in maintaining the brand that we love. For this reason, we enjoy a workplace alive with valuable professional relationships, genuine friendships and family.

The personal perks of working in a small business make our day to day stories special, too. As I write this copy from our North London Head Office, I’m sat beside Head of Visual Merchandising, Lubo, who provides me with all the latest interior design tips and tricks. What’s more, I have to embark on less than a 10 second walk to be at co-Director Mick’s desk, badgering him with questions about vegan sofa requirements, pet-friendly fabrics and waterproof furniture.
With our roots in North London, it's no surprise that our largest store and Head Office is here. Our first shop has been a hub for our team of experts for 22 years. Standing proudly on Cricklewood Broadway, our NW2 managers and team love seeing our local customers as well as those who have travelled far and wide to meet us. Although we're on a main road, thanks to our free rooftop car park swinging by our largest showroom from afar is a viable option. With enviable shop window set-ups and exclusive collections cultivated by our skilled team of Visual Merchandisers and Interior Designers, our North London shop is certainly worth a visit.
Since lockdown it seems that everyone is putting their best interior design foot forward. Home-owners all over the country are taking the plunge into the world of refurbs and revamps. So, if you're reading this, we're sure we'll see you soon! If you’re already familiar with our team, we can’t wait to see you in store again and if not, we look forward to meeting you.
We have a huge CLEARANCE sale on our top floor at our Cricklewood store. With everything from sofas and beds to mirrors, lamps and cushions, come and see us to see last season's gorgeous collection at a discounted price. The best bit? Last season's showroom furniture is still largely untouched due to lockdown. Plus, our furniture is made to last in terms of quality and our timeless designs. Conscious consumerism is at the heart of everything we do so our pieces never go out of style.
We have free parking on the roof, an exclusive range of dark teak furniture, our complete bedroom and garden collection and an outlet range that you'll love. What's not to love about the North London
Our entire bed collection is available to browse in store, exclusively at our NW2 location
