Asking our team about their favourite sofas is a lot like asking the waiter what they recommend in your favourite restaurant. If you go to restaurants and find yourself glancing at other tables, flicking your eyes between their dishes and your menu to work out what they're eating (and why it smells so good), you're not alone. "What would YOU recommend?" you ask the waiter (knowing full well you'll be getting the same thing you get every time). Basically, what we're saying is, it's human nature to be curious about everyone else's tastes while maintaining your all-time favourite. That's how we feel about our sofas at Raft.
The Raft team is a mix of different people and Raft sofas are, too. For this reason, if you see a train of us walking around the shop, you'll notice each of our eyes fixed on a different sofa, daydreaming about putting our feet up and getting lost in the comfort and calm of their sumptuous seats.
So, with that concept in mind, we decided to put together a blog to showcase our beautiful sofas and our even more beautiful team. Most of us have been here for a long while, making us part of the furniture, too! So, without further ado...
“Gotta be the lovely deep Manhattan.”
“My favourite sofa is a Manhattan 4 seater with chaise. I find it really cosy, minimal and elegant at the same time. I sell it always with enthusiasm as I know it is one of the most comfortable on the market. Scatter cushions are also a great way to personalize it making it unique.”
"I can’t choose so….
Manhattan corner unit in velvet as love curling up in the corner and everyone knows it is MY spot.
Also the Oscar armchair in tan leather as it looks amazing and is so comfortable – also not being slouchy means I won’t fall asleep when I sit on it!!"
"I love a new sofa. But what I really love is an old sofa. I have two battered Grey, buffed (between leather and Nubuck) Oscars in my kitchen. They are the perfect welcome home. There is no TV, so I use them for reading and listening to music. An homage to Art Deco. Perfect in both form and function."

"Melrose! So good I had to get my own one. My demonic cat loves to sit in loaf mode on the chunky arms."
"LINCOLN! ❤ I like it in the chenille fabric. It's cosy and really makes me feel like I want stew all day in that one spot"
"The Lincoln hands down! It's so indulgent... Every time I walk past it (or even see a photo) I want to lie on it. That's the sign of a good sofa, I reckon!"
“Definitely the Lincoln…the layered scatters got me hooked, I love the idea of moving the scatters around to accommodate every individual. I also like how perfectly snug the Lincoln chair and a half is – hours spent in comfort!”
"The Madison Sofa. Very comfortable and has the correct height for my tall family."
"I love all of our sofas, however, the New York has to be on top of my list. I like the elegant way it sits high off the ground and the chunky arms that balance the look."
"I love the look of the New York Sofa for the simplicity, clean lines with its fresh look and the difference including the wooden front rail allowing the sofa to fit in into any environment.
But if I was a sofa? I would probably say am the ‘Loft Sofa’ because its reliable, solid, fun and can fit to any occasion from chilling with your kids to entertaining and then once again turning into comfy, warm, loving, dependable and flexible (NOT LITERALLY)."
"Tulsa for me, beautiful classic lines and detailing with a narrow elegant rolled arm, meaning the seating is maximised for all spaces."
“Mine would have to be the Stanford, as it’s a timeless piece, looks better over time, and you can style your way around it through the seasons.”
"I think it ticks all the boxes. Sturdy, timeless design. Lots of flexibility with its modularity and comfortable too."
"Ok, I have a few sofas I really like and thy all depend on what the scenario is but if pushed, I’d have to say the Loft!
I love the style of it but the flexibility and versatility of how it can be configured and displayed is awesome and real value for money. You can have it as a conventional/formal sofa or turn it into a cube/bed for those lazy days!
Overall – hard to beat!"
"Love the flexibility/modularity of the sofa."
"I have more than one favourite but I’d say Loft for now as it’s timeless and flexible so you can never get bored of it."
"Ok, so I love the Loft, I’ve got one at home and I love it! My cats love laying on a back of the sofa."
"Seattle. Love seeing my fluffball of a cat snuggled down on top of the back cushions, welcoming us home everyday from her ‘window seat’ just the right height and width for her perfect viewpoint."
